THE HOLIDAY.
It was impossible to imagine a more perfect day for a holiday than yesterday. Not a cloud was in the sky, and a "brilliant &un was tempered by a gentle breeze. Large crowds took advantage of the splendid weather to visit the eeaside, Xew Brighton was thronged, and the surf was patronised in a manner which recalled.' Christmas time. There was also a big exodus of city folk to Sumner, the hills and the sea being equally well patronised. The railway excursions to Arthur's Pass and to Little Kiver were largely availed of. The express trains also conveyed large numbers of holiday-makers. (PRESS ASSOCIATION' TrXEGRASI.) WELLINGTON', April 6 % Large crowds are in the city for the holiday. Light rain fell early this morning, but it cleared off before noon.
