NO CONTEST IN TEN
ELECTORATES.
THREE WOMEN CANDIDATES
(By Cable—Press Association—Copyright) (Received April 6th, 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 5. Tho nominations for the Federal Elections havo closed. Seven Nationalists, including Brigjv-diers-General Abbott and Ryrie, of New South Wales, and Sir John Forrest, of Westralia, and three Political Labour League candidates, have been returned unopposed. The P.L.L. nominations in New South Wales include two women candidates. Besides the Nationalist and P.L.L. selections in New South Wales for the Senate, the Socialists are running a bunch of candidates, and in Victoria Miss Vida Goldstein runs as an independent. Miss Vida Goldstein has for many years been president of the Women's Political Association of Victoria, and prominent as a speaker and writer. She lias, twice previously contested the Federal Senate elections in Victoria, and was the first woman candidate for Parliament in tiie British Dominions.
