RANGIORA.
The monthly meeting of tho W.C.T.U. was held on friday. The president was in tho chair, and twenty members were present, ihe following resolutions were carried: —(1) "That in tho opinion of the W.C.T.U., the timo is opportune for tho Borough Council and other local bodies to provide a rest room and conveniences ior women and children on market days, and respectfully asks the Borough Council, in conjunction with other local bodies, to do all in their power to have accommodation provided." (2) '"That the resolutions in regard to venereal diseases passed by the Wellington Hospital Board (all save clause 11) be upheld. - '.' (3) "That tho Rangiora ' ♦v.0.T.U." wishes to strongly disapprove of the failure of the Licensing Bill, and of the reversing of members' pledges." Mrs Avers and Miss Wndoy wero apX>cinled delegates to the Kaiapoi Electoral Council. A resolution brought forward by Mrs Wills in favour of a, referendum being granted on theßible-in-Schools tiuastion was carried. Mrs Withers and Miss Wadey contributed solos, and a collection in aid Of tho funds was made.
