A meeting of tho sub-committee ot the Oxtord A. and P. Association was held on Saturday nignt, when tnoro was a full attendance. Arrangements in connexion with tho annual dinner, to bo held on tho. 10th inst.. wero completed, and it was decided to stop ttio sale of tickets on the 17th, It was also decidnd to. hold a meeting of tho General Committee on tho 15th, to revi?e th<» regulations and discuss matters in anticipation of tho next annual Show. Delightful weather has been experienced during tho past week. Saturday was a perfect 6pring day, though on Sunday a bleak nor'-wester blow. Thero is a perceptiblo growth in grass, and ur.stocked fields are showing up green. Thero is a fear, however, that late frosts will give a sot-back to any unusually early growth. July was anexceptionally dry month, only l.OQih-of rain falling, while last year it was 2.67 in., the previous year iU.*l9in, and in It was 1.76 in.

Mr D. Hawko was unanimously elected president, and arI rangomeuts" wero discussed for promoti ing the interests.of tho League throughout the district. During the past two or three months efforts have been mado to revive interest in the Oxford Public Library, which have had successful results. A new committee has reorganised-the institution, withdrawn a number "of old books, and purchased a new supply.-. 1 'Recently a social was hold to raise, funds, which, together with the large increaso of eub-i scriptions, will proyido>::A;'substantial amount on which to.securo^a Government subsidy. "V..'".':,''-:^^..v Instead of the ordinary;nioeting, the Oxford W.C.T.U. celebrated Taylor Memorial Day in the: Coronation Hall on Wednesday. There was a good attendance. The president gave an excellent Dsv-or on the life and work of the late Mr T; E. Taylor. Mrs Kionenberger then unveiled a photograoh of deceased, and related some of; tho many interesting events ■connected with his life and work.: .Mesdames Cuming "and Comyns sang a duet, after which Miss Cayerhiil was chosen. to- represent the Union at the coniing District Convention. Ono new member was enrolled.
