Tho president reported in connexion with tho visit to Wellington, that they had had a very eatisfactory assurance from tjio J3on. W. Fraser that the work would bo accelerated. Tho deputation had decided to approach Mr Fraser in a very straight manner, andraako their requests as direct as possible. Thoy recognised they were dealing with a straightforward man—one who called a spade a spade—and tho reply they "ot was equally direct. Another matter that was brought up was the rumour that Mr Fraser only intended to put tho railway to Rotherham. They now had his assurance that ho intended to do nothing of tho sort; Waiau was tho object of the line, and ho intended to push it right through Mr Foster moved a hearty vote of thanks to the delegates for the able manner in which they had stated the Leaguos case the motion being earned unanimously.
