LONG MEETING OF CABINET.
■EFFECT OF GERMANY?S AGGRESSION. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received August 3rd, 6.25 p.m.) LONDON, August 3. It is understood that tho Government will ask Parliament for a credit for dofonce purposes. The Cabinet sat for four hours and a half last evening. There was a full attendance of members. It was stated that the attitude of Ministers was materially changed by tho news of Germany's action in Luxemburg. The doubts which manifested themselves at an earlier meeting were very largely dispelled, and Cabinet turned with a united front to fulfil the duties imposed by tho national peril. At an earlier stage a strong belief existod that various Ministers might resign, but tho afternoon meeting succeeded iv closing the ranks. Tho decisions of the Cabinet will be announced in tho Houso of Commons on Monday. They are known to bo of a iarge and comprehensive character, dealing not only with the naval and military preparations, but with the whole fabric of the national credit and food supply.
