Hughes suggested that as the Senate, had rejected the "No Preference" Bill, it became the duty of the Government, if it intended to seek a double dissolution upon it, to apply at once. Tho Prime Minister replied :—"The Governrueut knows its duty, and ■will bo prepared to act upon it when the time comes.' - '
