GHOULISH STORIES DISCREDITED.
CLAIM AND COUNTER-CLAIM. (Received June 4th. 8.45 p.m.) MONTREAL, Juno 3. Tho Canadian-Pacific Company denies the statements regarding the mutilation of bodies by frenzied steerage passengers. Evil imagination, it says, is tho only foundation for these ghoulish tales. The company is claimins £400,000 against tho Storstad, which counterclaims for £10,000. Tho bodies of those identified include Lieutenant-Colonel Bloomfield (New Zealand), Mrs Price (New Zealand), and Miss Byrne (Brisbane). Those of many second-class passengers are still unidentified.
