STORSTAD'S RESCUE WORK.
IRRECONCILABLE STATEMENTS. ("Timc»* and "Sydney Sun" S«rvices.> (Received June 4th. 5.45 p.m.) QUEBEC, Juno 3. Irreconcilable statements concerning the disaster aro current. It is asserted that not a single boat left tho Storstad till daylight, whon two small ones were launched. On the other hand, the officers of the Storstad stato that four boats were launched immediately / and quickly loaded to their utmost capacity. They also allege fchat two officers of the Empress of Ireland, after reaching tho Storstad, refused to assist in the rescue work, declaring that the lifeboat was too heavT to pull, whereupon th;ee of the Storstad's firemen took the lifeboat and rescued fifty people.
