CAPTAIN KENDALL'S PART.
PASSENGERS , CONVINCING STORY. (Received June 4th. 10.20 p.m.) MONTREAL. June 3.
Dr. Grant and Mr Hyamson, an English traveller, declare that tho charges against Captain Kerdall are false. Captain Kendall struggled to help with tlio rescue work when he was in a state of collapse, and refused to leave the boat, which was half-full of water, while there was a hope of rescuing ojhers.
Mr Hyamson added that Captain Kendall refused to abandon the search for others when he (Mr Hyamson) and others aboard the Storstad were urging that it was hopeless. He asserts that he caa swear that the Empress of Ireland was stationary when the Storstad struck her.
