A SOLICITOR'S BANKRUPTCY
(special to "the press.") INVERCARGILL, Juno 4. In conscquenco of a petition in bankruptcy lodged on his own bohalt on May 23rd by J. S. Neave, solicitor, the Deputy-Official Assigneo called a meeting of creditors in the estate by advertisement, and this meoting was to havo taken placo to-day, but at tho hour fixed the only persons in attendance were the representatives of tho Press and the Official Assignee. It is understood that tho bankrupt has not submitted himself to examination, by tho Assignee, and that such bein£ the ca«o. no statement as to tho creditors has been forthcoming. Tho Assignee is at present unable to give any explanation of bankrupt's non-at-tendance, nor has ho any information as to tho extent of tho liabilities. Tho local Law Society considered the caso in committee about a week ago, but the nature of the decision has not been divulged.
