MARTON, Juno 4.

A rather sensational robbery of mail mattor is reported. A bag of mail matter, including about £140 in caeh, was put on the train at Haloombo for Palmerstou North on .Saturday, but* upon arrival of tho train tho bag was found to bo missing, and no trace of it can bo found. Botective Quirk has the mattor in hand, but so far he has failed to obtain a clue.

It is rumoured -that money was also extracted from a moil-bag despatched to Turakina. ,
