The nrise and piano funds of tho Leeston'public school have been swelled to the extent of-about £5 by the proceeds from an entertainment given by the State Exnress Picture Company. Bake*, had visited the school on May 2/th. llio caretaker sent in his resignation owing to his denarture from the district, aud it was decided to invite fresh applications for the position.
