The band and songsters attached to tho Linwood branch, of tha Salvation Army visited th". Seamefa's Institute' at Lyttelton on Monday evening, and gave a programmo consisting of solos (vocal and instrumental), a quartette, recitation, cornot duet, selec- ( lions by the band, under Bandmaster J. Clsrk, and songs by the s_ging company, under - tbe baton of Songster Leader J. Mathioson. All the itemß were thoroughly enjoyed 'by tha large number who were present. Mr M. J.-Miller, on behalf of the men, thanked Ensign Smith and his comrades for tho progiamme provided.
