LONDON, May 31. The King has cabled to tho Duke ot Connaugbt his deep grief at tho awful disaster, and hOartfelt sympathy with tho mourners. Queon Aloxandra and Princo Henry of Prussia sent similar message-. The Kaiser lias telegraphed to King George deploring the CataatrOpho and loss of valuable lives. OTTAWA, May 31. The Premier, the Hon. R. L. Borden, read in the Dominion House of Commons Mr Massey'.. message of sympathy at tho appalling loss Of life, and heartfelt condolences with tho sufferers. Mr Borden replied expressing deep and sincere appreciation for the message and "profound sympathy for thoso of your Dominion who aro boroft of relatives afid friend- by tho dis-a-t-fx" SYDNEY, June 1. Mr Holman ha. oabled to Mr Borden expressing sympathy at tho loss of tho Empress of Ireland. Sympathetic reference to the disaster was made yesterday in various churches in the Commonwealth.
