Tho County Council, at its meeting on Wednesday, condoled with Mr K. H. Rhodes (chairman) in tho death of his brother. About two hundred people attended the Navy League's fourth annual social in the Olympia Hall on Wednesday. Tho Mayor (Mr John Black) presided. An address on naval derenco was given by Mr Georgo Pitcaithly, for which he was accorded a, vote of thanks. The success of the social was due largely to the work of tho secretary (Mrs K. M. Orbell). Songs wero contributed «>y Miss Oily, Messrs R. Steele, and T.
