GRAND LODGES OF DRUIDS.
UNITY SCHEME ADOPTED
(r-BESS ASSOCIATION" TELKGBAM.) DUN'EDIN, May 25. For the past twenty years or so endeavours have been made to set up a governing body for tho purpose of bringing about unity throughout tho Dominion between the different Grand Lodges of the United Ancient Order of Druids, and now success seems to have crowned these elfol ts. To-night delegates from tho North Island Grand Lodge and the Canterbury and Otago and Southland Grand Lodges met in conference, and as a result of their deliberations it was decided to establish a Unity Board, which will have power to take step.* to bring uniformity of government among the three Grand Lodges named. The Board iv drawing up a number of remits which will have the effect, if adopted, of putting the working rules of the three bodies into Jinc. The main principle of the new proposals is to enable members of one Grand Lodge to be transferred to another district, and to participate in the full benefits of the lodge governing the district to which they may be transferred. Executive officers of the Board were elected "as follows: —President, Bro. A. Thompson ('Auckland); vice-president, Bro. W. Neate (Christchurch); secretary and treasurer, Bro. W. B. Steel (Dunedin).
