Areension Dr-y was celebrated at the English Church. Ohoka. on Thursday, when a large number attended in spite ot" the wet w-vither. Th<* -=e-—'*v« was conducted by the Rev. J. It. Wilford.
On Thursday evening a farewell sc-ci.il was tendered by the Te Waipounamu College and friends to Miss Hinga Car rington, who is loaving for the North Island. Miss Carringt-on has been a student at Waipounamu for many years, and is highly esteemed l>y everyone who has come in contact with her. Miss Carrington was presented *-<■•!th a handsome silver teapot suitably inscribed.
Some v°rv fine •*>'>''-t--<*s w-n I'r.p** grown jit Eyreton by Mr T. Skivitif_ton, several of which weigh two and a half pounds. They are known as Dacofa Reds.
