On Wednesday evening the Library committee commenced a forward movement, having for its object the wiping out of the debt on the Coronation Hall and library, amounting to £150. A social anddance was held, and. there being a big attendance, a goodly sum was securer] to form tlie nucleus of tho fund. It is intended to hold a bazaar at an early date in aid of tho fund.
Last week's wet spoH brought tlie season's threshing to a close, though there is still some grain to lie threshed. On account of the boggy nature of the ground, mill owners have decided to pull in for the winter. Tho mill returns are generally well over the average. It may bo taken as something of n compliment to tho district that Mr .1 Kennedy, who sold out. his lower Annao farm some time a_o has. after an extensive tour of other districts, purchased a farm not far from his old property, it Wing tho section held by Mr James Douds, on Highfield'.
