SCARGILL.

A meeting of householdors and parents was held at the school, Scargill, on Slay 18th, for the purpose of electing a. committee for the year. There was a fair number present. The following were elected:—Mrs H. Stewart, and Messrs A. Cameron, T. 0. Johnson, F. Tobeck, and C. Dallard. A hearty vote of thanks was carried to Mr W. F. Panirott, the retiring chairman, for his past services, extending over a number of years. Mr Pannefct, through pressure of work, could not see his way clear to offer himself for re-election. At a committee meeting held immediately after the general meeting, Mr A. Cameron was chosen as chairman and treasurer, and Mr T. 0. Johnson minutes secretary.
