RANGIORA.

Tho electors of Raiigiora are reminded that tho election of a councillor takes place to-morrow. Mr J. Marshall and Mrs Marshall, who have been on a three weeks' trip to the Xorth Island, returned to Itangiora yesterday. The annual meeting of tho Rangiora Literary and Debating Society was held on Monday evening, Mr T. W. Ambrose presiding over a good attendance of members. The report and bal-ance-sheet were adopted* and the following officers were elected :—President, Mr T. W. Ambrose: vioe-presi-deot. Mr It. Ball; secretary and treasurer, Mr S. S. Clark; committee. Mrs Darling, Misses B. Boyd, F. and E. Scott and Messrs J. \V. Sinclair, S. L. Paterson and Hargroares; editor, Mr S. S-. Clark. The rules governing tho Society were thoroughly revised and several new members were elected. It was decided to' open the season on June Bth with a debato on tho following subject:—"That Great Britain is producing a higher type of manhood than New Zealand."
