The following nominations were received yesterday by the Northern A. and P. Association for tne annual meeting:—President, Mr Alexander Mclntosh, of Southbrook; vice-president, Messrs T. Leech and J. D. "Wyllie; hon. treasurer. Mr T. J. Hunter; auditor, Mr C. I. Jennings. A ballot will bo taken for the general committco of twentyfour, for which thirty-five nominations have been received.

Autumn-sown crops in South Canterbury are now.to he scon showing well tho ground. The grain was sown with the ground in good order, and with favourable weather conditions it got a pootl start,. It will thus be seen that there was an increase of 375,724 carcases of mutton. 238,393 carcases of lamb, and 65.296 quartets of beef over last season's shipments.
