ATTEMPT TO STEAL £1,500,000.

ROME, May 18

A daring attempt at a bullion robbery was made at Brindisi, where tho steamer Helouan had transferred to the Custom House 100 packages containing £1,500,000 consigned to Alexandria from London.

The robbers entered the building, but wero foiled in their attempt to secure the money.

One was arrested
