ASHBURTON.
. (Beforo Mr R. Clark, J .P.) John Barclay, who pleaded guilty to a charge of having been drunk in' a railway carriage, was fined ss, in default 24 hours' imprisonment, and ordered tot pay 2s cab hire. Ernest Richard Maybury • pleaded guilty to a charge of having been in an advanced stage of intoxication. Sergeant Emerson applied for a remand for eight days in order that accused might be medically, treated at Lyttelton. Maybury objected to this, but the Bench granted the application.
