4 AUSTRALIA MAY LEAD IN CHRISTIANISING IT. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) LONDON, January 26. A thanksgiving service held in St. Dunstan's-in-the-East was conducted by Bishop Harmer, of Rochester, and Bishop Thornton. The congregation numbered 150, mostly ladies. The Rev. C. E. Doudney, formerly of South Australia, in a stirring Kerinon on the text "Righteousness exalteth a nation," emphasised the fact that Australia was the only instance of a nation founded without bloodshed. He hoped that Australia would lead in civilieins and Christianising the bad old world.
