Six hundred and forty-one steamers and forty-seven sailing vessels, of a tonnage respectively of 1,919,578 and 12,575, were launched in the United Kingdom in 1913, whereof 78i per cent, are on the United Kingdom's register. The output of other countries was 1062 merchantmen, of a tonnage of 1,400,729.
