The "washing up" Bill introduced in the House to-night contains 99 clauses. The Bill, inter alia, provides that the owners of the renewable leasc-s in respect of Crown lands in the Ohakuno Village-Settlement may acquire the freehold of their leases at any time during the currency of their leases. The Bill provides that the executive of the Auckland Exhibition may have power to dispose of certain exhibits by lot. The Bill also provides for the payment of an annuity of £150 a year for life to Colonel T. V. Porter in recognition of faithful services and in recognition of the fact that -when he retired from +lie Public Service he was not entitled to a retiring allowance, although he was a contributor to the superannuation fund.
