EFFECT ON SHIPPING.
As a result of the meeting tbe UliI maroa and Riverina will lie up indefinitely. The Union Company will despatch vessels to Tasmania and Fiji, and anticipates despatching tbe Manuka to Wellington on Saturday. The Wbaketane and Indrapnra commenced discharging to-day. All other deep-sea ships are relieved of trouble for the present. The Maunganui anchored in Neutral Bay. Tbe mails, passengers, and their luggage were landed in launches. Tho Waipori and Kakapo, the latter trimmed by the Union Company's clerks, finished loading coal at Newcastle. The Waipori left for Wellington, and tbe Kakapo for Tasmania. The barque Northern Chief is being trimmed by her crew, the usual trimmers declining to work aboard her.
