CUSTOMSFRAU DS ALLEGED.

THREE ARRESTS.

Three men were arrested yesterday by Detective Gibson on a charge of theft by moans of alleged Customs frauds. The names of the accused are: — -J. Anderson .Campbell, Customs officer, S. J. McCormack, and H. L. Owen, Customs agents. The firstnaniod is an officer in the local office of the Customs Department, and the other two are agents in Christchurch.

It. ■is understood that the amount involved is a fairly substantial sum.

The three men will appear at the Magistrate's Court this morning to answer the charge.
