Robert James Dougall, a young main, was charged before Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M.. in the Magistrate's Court yesterday with being a rogue and a vagabond," in*that he was found yesterday armed ■with-an offensive weapon, to "wit a tSudgeon. with felonious intent. Accused said the whole affair was a joke, and he, with a "mob" of other fellows, was only acting the goat. , The Magistrate: A rather dangerous, way of "acting the goat," when the Rrhole city is excited. . Senior-Sergeant Mathieson said the accused's statement was quite correct. There "was a mob of 1 youths, and they were all armed with batons.. They went about accosting people, and endeavouring to create a disturbance. The accused had a bad-record. The Magistrate: That alters the case.
