AN ACTING-EDITOR.
Mr E. J. Howard, chairman of the Board' of' Management of the "Maprilttnd Worker," made a statement to a "Press" reporter yesterday apropos of the Press Association telegram from -Wellington stating that Edward Colclough, acting-editor, of the "Worker," had been committed for trial on a charge of having, with intent to do bodily harm to.a mounted constable, discharged, a revolver loaded -with ball cartridge: ..' ■ . • ' • ''This man. Colclough>" Mr Howard said, "is in no way connected with the 'Maoriland Worker, , and so far as we know he is not eA'en a member. of the Federation of Labour. ,, Mr Howard understands that Mr J. B. Allen,- an English union secretary, who is sub-editor of-the "Worker," is at present editing thepaper.
