HINDJS IN CANADA.
DEMAND AND GAIN ADMISSION. EXCLUSION ACT URGED. (By Cable. —Frees Association.—Copyright.) VANCOUVER, November 26. The Hindu problem is likely to become acute again in British Columbia. Forty Hindus arrived by direct steamer from India and demanded admission. The immigration authorities refused to allow them to enter. The Hindus appealed to the British Columbian Courts, and after litigation the - Provincial Supreme Court declared the Dominion regulations governing the admission of Hindus to be ultra vires in several particulars. The case is likely to be taken the Privy Council.
Meanwhile other batches of Hindus are arriving in Western Canada.
The Liberals demand a Federal Exclusion Act to deal immediately with the question.
