NEW PARLIAMENT BUILDINGS.

THE SUCCESSFUL TENDERER

THOUGHT TO BE A CHRISTCHURCH FIRM.

feriSCIAL TO "THE PttKSa.") WELLINGTON, November 28. Naturally a good deal of interest is being taken in tho tender which it was announced by tho Minister of Public Works a few daya ago had been eelected by the Tenders' Board for the construction of tho new Parliament buildings. While nothing definite can yet be announced it is thought in fairly well-informed circles that the firm is a Christehurch one, which, during the last three years, has been successful in securing contracts for several largo Government buildings in Auckland and Christehurch. The board of experts set up to consider the best stone for tho front of the now buildings is understood to have selected Mt. Somors' stone as the most suitable.
