ASHBURTON.
The monthly meeting of the Ashburton Technical Classes Association was held on Friday, when Mr H. Davis presided. • The Executive reported /that it had been decided to plant tho ground around the school, and recommended that the Winchroore dress-making and millinery classes be started next year; should sufficient support forthcoming. Miss liennie stated s!le could not accept a permanent position at £160, and it was resolved that her appointment remain as at present. Miss E. E. Thompson was appointed instructress in typewriting. The Director suggested that a motor engineering class bo included in the prospectus for next year. The breaking up was fixed for December oth, at the Technical School, the arrangements being left in the hands of the directors and chairman. It was decided to spend £-5 on prizes, the selection of books being left to Mr Watters and the director.
The Young Men's Bible Class in connexion with the Ashbuitton Baring square Methodist Sunday School has presented Mr Charles Dixon, superintendent of the school, with a framed photograph of the class. The presentation was made by Mr B. H. Carter, leader of the class, who stated it was given as a mark of the esteem in which the recipient was held by tho members, and in appreciation of tho good work ho had done for the class. .
