HINTS.

The annual concert given by the pupils of Hinde School was held on Friday evening in the Hall. Mr J. M. Hampton, chairman of the School Committee, occupied the chair. The attendance was very large, and many people could not obtain admission to the building. Tho teachers by their efforts not only aimed at success, but achieved it judging by the reception given to every item. The programme consisted of songs recitations and dialogues, as well as exhibitions of scarf drill and dumb bell and club swinging exercises. On the motion of the Chairman, a hearty vote of thanks was passed to the teachers, Miss M. Hayes and Mr J. Cook. An excellent supper xr&s then served after which the room was cleared for dancing, which was kept up till 2 a.m. Messrs H. McConneil (piano) J. Millen (violin), and others supplied excellent music, and Mr E Leathern acted as M.C.
