The following resolution was passed at a meeting of the Canterbury branch of the Methodist Union for Social Service yesterday morning:—"That we, the members of tho MethoJist Social Service Union, express our appreciation of, and agreement with, the timely utterance of the acting-chairman of the North Canterbury Methodist Synod, published in the daily papers. ■Wβ regret that in tho present industrial ensifi, there has been little attempt at conciliation, ans.as a consequence the present impasse *fris been reached. Wβ are firmly "of opinion that any success** ful attempt to effect a satisfactory and permanent settlement of_ all industrial crises can only be found in the applica-" tion of the principles of Christian brotherhood. Wo are confident that the Chnreh of Christ is in full sympathy with all legitimate and lawfnl measures to secure for workers a just share of the fruits of industry."
