THE TRAMWAY MEN
The first portion of tho special meeting of meinbera of the Tramway Employees' Union was hekl at tho Trades Hall yesterday morning, and was largely attended. Tbe meeting, which was called to discuss matters connected with the contribution the union should make to the strike fund, lasted for about an honr.
Tho second portion of the meeting was held in tbe evening. On application for the decisions arrived at the secretary of the union declined to give any information.
With, reference to a report in yesterdays "Press" of a conversation between Mr Hunter, the secretary of the Drivers' Union, and a member of the union, respecting the handling of "scab" cargo, Mr Hunter has communicated with us denying the accuracy of the report. Asked if he.'.wished to deny that some such conversation took place. Mr Hunter said that ho did not. He
•aid. however, that he wished to deny that them has been any friction between him and any member of the the union.
