Interviewed, several members of the Parliamentary Party stated that public opinion in Australia and New Zealand was almost unanimously favourably disposed towards cadet service.
Lord Sheffield stated that there was no more opposition to compulsory cadet service than to most of the legislation concerning the whole community. Everywhere in Australia they found a fine spirit of Imperial loyalty. "But they let us know plainly," he added, "their strong desire to be left alone."
Mr Will Crooks, M.P., in an interview, said:— li We had a' great tour. The journey was a triumph from start to finish.
