THE LICENSING COMMITTEE.
TO THE EDITOB OF THE PRESS. Sir,—lt is to be hoped that the public will bestir themselves to see that a proper Licensing "Committee is nominated for the forthcoming election next month, and that good men, independent of any party, will be found! to accept nomination. Of late, the nominations have been left almost entirely to the tradto; and last time, I believe, the whole of the elected committee, with one exception, were their nominees, If the trade are wise, they wijl take note of the present trend of public opinion, and abstain from making any nommatiooe. — Yours, etc.. VOTER.
