CORRESPONDENCE.
# REGATTA TRA*N~ ARRANGEMENTS. to THB xnnoß or the pbess. Sir,—l wieb. to draw the attention of those whom it concerns to the erratic way the train from Rangiora to Stewart's Gully wus handled on Thursday, first the 1.20 train, which should leave Rangiora was twenty minutes late arriving from town, consequently we did not get away from Rangiora until twenty minute* to two o'clock. Notwithstanding there was no notice board, and no word from those in charge, the passengers were aware they had arrived at their destination, the passengers were not given two minutes to get off when off the train went. How some one <eecaped being tuu over is marvellous. If it had not been for the smartness of the ticket collectors who were handing out the passengers at the time some acckfent would certainly have happened. I can testify to the eagerness of the | passengers in our carriage that they lost no time in trying to get out. Wβ were carried fully a third of a mile further on, the guard declining to back the train, so we had to get off at a most difficult spot. —Yours, etc., ALPHA.
