THE FUNERAL.
The funeral of the late Hon: W. RoCleston left the deceased gentleman's residence at Rangitata shortly after 9 o'clock yesterday morning for tie Temuka railway station, in order that the interment might take place ait Christehurch to-day. There w«a a representative . attendance from all parts of the district, and the cortege was largely increased en route to Temuka. As the procession approached Temuka the belle were tolled, the business plaoee were olosed, and the flags on the buildings were flown at half-mast. The bearers were the deceased gentleman's these sons, Messrs A. C, F. J., and J. Rolketon, and Mr T. Teechemaker (son-in-law). Among those present Dennistoun and D. Macfarlane, of Peel Forest; Mr E. Tripp, of Oruri Gorge; Mr F. Barker and Mr J. Mating, of Geraldine; Mr J. Talbot, of Temuka; Mr F. R. Flatman, M.H.R., the Hon. J. M. Twbraey, QkI.L.C, Mr C. H. Tripp, Mr Guild, and many others. The body wae brought to Chrietchurch by the - express, and was conveyed to the residence of Mr A. C. Rolleston, Park Terrace, whence the funeral will leave to-day at 2 p.m. for the Avonside Cemetery.
