Alb Leeston, before Mr R. Beetham, S.M., and Dr. Gossett, J.P., G. H. Ireland, cluimged with maa-sQJangjhiter, was acquitted. The police stated that they hod no evidence to-substantiate the'charge. This was the case in- wliach Trooper Ireland, of the Ellestnere ->-Oui_ted Rifles,' was alleged to (have aoc-dentally shot and killed Trooper P. P. Boatg, youngest son of Mr John Boag, of Mddd'lerigg. "SELLING TROUT. In the cose df the AcdHmatisaition Society v Peter Alick, who was du-rged with illegally selling trout, the defendant was fined 20s and costs.
