He found the cold lake region liefreshing and beautiful the eighte even eurpaseing tLe descriptions he had been given of Lake WaJiatapu ac a resort for tourists. This trip, he thought, was bound to prove a very great attraction t< Australian visitors. Visitors were also well attended v« during the trip/ Mr Collins was greatly impressed with the wonderful resources of all the land he had seeji in the south right through into the back cwmt-ry, and all along tlie line of ilie Btiiff to* Lytteiton. There were not only wonderful crops in eight, but also an abundance of feed. As one trho tras especiaJly interested in agricultural and pastoral matters, the visitor made a point of observing these things. He also noticed that the southern stock was not only in tuie b>e«t condition, but they werea really excellent class of animal, especially the dairy eatu«.
