CHRISTCHURCH MEAT COMPANY'S PICNIC.

The annual picnic of the large staff of employees of the Christehurch Meat Company was held' on Saturday at Amberley, about IgQO persons being conveyed thither by the excursion trains. The weather being fine an-J the trysting place one of the best that could be selected, the picnic was enjoyed by everyone. The trains left Die city about 8 a.m., and returned about 7 p.m.. The committee of management included Messrs D. Burt (chairman). R. Benjamin (secretary), T. Wilson (treasurer). W. H. New-man, R. Halliday, A. Wheeler, J. Muir, L. B-ghain, G. Newton. T. Burnett. G. McKay, W. Brown, F. Laurensen, D. Watt, and'T. Voice. On the Domain the following events were got off, Mr W. Kerr being handicapper: —
