INTERVIEW • WITH A FEDERAL POLITICIAN.
(FBOM A COnRESfONDENT.) WELLINGTON, Jaaiuary 22. Interviewed as he wan passing through Wellington on his way Nortih, Mr J. C. Watson, leader of the Labour party in the Commonwealth Parliament, who ia spending some time in this colony enquiring, among other things, into the working of the OonriliatkMi and Arbitration Act, and the Worker*' Compensation Act, Says that he does not tilnink that the complaint of delay in the desp&toh of business by the Arbitration Oouft will be overcome by the appointment of more judges, as tihere might i be disagreement or dissatisfaction with the awards of different judges. He suggests i , that power be given to have breaches of disputes dealt with by the ordinary Courts, so that the Arbitration Court might devote itself wholly ±o the dispute*. He approves the New Zealand syefcem of keeping lawyers out of the Court, ualees both sides a dispute desire to har» their assistance. The Labour party in Australia, he said, desired a.
