LYTTELTON.
The Lyttelton Borough Council met on Monday." Present—The Mayor (Mr J. Grubb), and Crs. Webb, Brown, Garrard, RadclifFe, Kay, Cleary. Cook, and Whitby. The Finance Committee reported receipts £513 18s 10d, and recommended lor payment accounts amounting to £570 4s 3d on general account, £72 7s 6d on drainage loan account, £116 3s on gasworks loan account, and £15 19s*5d oji waterworks account. The report was adopted. The an-ountß now stand as follows:—General dr £155 0s 5d (laet meeting the dr. balance was £454 12s), waterworks loan or. £29 16s lid, drainage loan cr. £2029 Is 9d, gasworks loan cr. £1770 13s 3d, abattoirs loan closed. The reports of the Abattoir Committee, the Estates Committee, and the Gasworks Committee were adopted. A week's holiday was ■■ "granted Mr Weir, of the pumping station. The report of the Foreman of Works stated that No. 1 sewer had been completed, and No. 2 sewer was being arched over. Tha Inspector's report was adopted. Two licences for lodging houses had been suspended for certain improvements to be made. The Council, after transacting some unimportant business, adjourned. •
