AMUSEMENTS.
THE "SHERLOCK HOLMES" SEASON. The hold which "Sherlock Holmes" has achieved on the theatre-going public was amply -proved by the crowded and enthusiastic audience which filled the theatre Jast night. At an early hour there was no more sitting accommodation, and standing room was soon at a premium also. The piece went splendidly from first to last, Mr 'Hastings receiving quite an ovation for his performance of Sherlock Holmes. The other members of the company weie also enthusiastically received. To-night th? piece will again "be played.
