YACHTING.

On Saturday afternoon the following yachts took part in a race at Lyttelton: — Zephyr (scratch), Venture (11-nia 15sec). Isca {llxaisx 30sec), Bettina (16see), and PalKha (20n_;n). The course was:—Start from the entrance to the moles, round the reef buoy, round the buoy off Fort Jervois, re-enter the moles, round a boat moored at the entrance to the dock, go entside the moles, round the two buoys before (mentioned, and finish at starting point. A good start was made at 2.30 p.m., ai>d the boats finished as follows: —Z phyr, 4hr_p 16_ni_i 30seo p.m. ; Bettima, 4hrs 2Smin 30sec p.m.; Isca, 4h__ 23min 36« ec p.m.; Venture, 4_ms 27<n_in p.m.; Pakeha, 4hrs 38min 30sec p.m. On the 'handicap allowances Bettina was placed first Isoa second, and Venture third. i\ir C Ferrier was starter and judge.
