ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A boy named James Coombs, aged fourteen, was riding through tho right-of-way by the D.I.C. yesterday morning, when the horse fell and rolled on its rider. The boy's loft leg was injured. The boy was attended to by Mr R. Brown, and was then driven to his home by Mr R. Warnes.
A man named Richard Hartshorn was knocked down at the Lichfield street Fire Brigade Station by one of the City Council boraos, which was being galloped into the station in response to the fire alarm yesterday afternooa. The man was rendered insensible and was carried into the station and afterwards removed to Mr R. Brown's surgery in Colombo street. He soon recovered consciousness, and the injuries sustained to his head and shoulder were found to be slight. Some steps ought to be taken to prevent people from crowding around the entrances to the Fire Brigade Stations when an alarm is given. It is surprising thai* more accidents do not occur.
