Bay Loses

By leading Bay of Plenty on the first innings in a representative cricket match at Seddon Park, Hamilton, Waikato earned the right to challenge for the Hawke Cup. Waikato scored 431 for nine wickets declared and Bay of Plenty replied with only 112. In the second innings Bay of Plenty fared much better, and when stumps were drawn at 4.30 p.m. it had 170 on the board for the loss of two wickets.
